This indian festival has a famous history.
It represents the birth of Mahavira who is mostly known as Vardhamana.He was born in either 615BC or in 599BC.
According to the stories Devananda(a brahmin girl) conceived him but the gods transfered the embryo to Trisala.
Over the decade Mahavir became ascetic he begged for food.He travelled a lot of places.Then he found enlightment and became a tirthankara and taught about human wellbeing,to be a good person for about thirty years.
Today he is known as the key prophet in Jainism.He also represents a path towards non violence.Jain people remember him on this day with prayers and wishes.
